They picked the finalists for the competition I mentioned in my previous entry. I made it into the finalists, and so did Mike!
PLEASE take the time to vote, you can vote once a day until March 15th. I would appreciate it so much, and I'm sure Mike would too. Here's the link to mine. http://letssavemichigan.com/poster-contest/entry/maria-filar and Mike's http://letssavemichigan.com/poster-contest/entry/michael-burdick Thanks guys. Anyway, yesterday was the contest deadline for a poster design competition sponsored by the Detroit Institute of Arts and the organization Let's Save Michigan. The theme was based on WPA posters from the 30's an 40's. The subject of these posters was to get people involved in social and environmental activism for the state of Michigan. I re-worked an old poster I did last year as a senior at CCS. The assignment given then was exactly the same as for this contest. I added the "Let's Save Michigan" to the new version and re-did it in Illustrator. The original was a bit sloppy since it was shakily hand-drawn, so this one feels crisper to me. Happy Holidays

Just a little thing I did in Illustrator and Photoshop. I am really into paper cut illustrations but this is a sort of cheater's shortcut due to lack of free time and a shortage of exacto blades. |
