April 2010 Ann Arbor

This started as an interrupted buildling sketch and then it was embellished later with time-passing doodles. In hindsight it is about originality, and how it's overrated. We are all looking for that unique voice or whatever, but when you find another artist that seems to share a large portion of your personal aesthetic, you should be excited, not discouraged. Part of good work is experimentation, but I think most good work is the recognition and reiteration of a previous success, whether yours or another's.

Everybody wants to fix up their house in the spring, so business is booming for Beaver Building. I go to work with my neighbor Charlie whenever the art business gets slow. He wants me to let the internet know- if you are a hot chick or need some work done on your home, call the number on the truck.
Also, here's my stab at a hip web flyer for a show I'm putting on with some friends next month. I draw all the type to hide my ignorance of acceptable font choices... I'm trying to learn more about graphic design, but this will have to do for now. Any pointers/feedback would be helpful!
